Teacher! I’m Done!
If I had a dollar for every time I’ve heard, “Khala, I’m done! Now what do I do?” I’d be rich.
We all have learners who just simply catch on quickly and who get finished with their daily work before the allotted time. If we do not give them something to do, most of the time students will find something else to get into. And it will usually be something that we don’t want them to do. When this happens, we as educators have two options, stop what we are doing and direct them to something else or get interrupted while we are busy helping another student leaving the “I’m done” student to bother others.
Well, there is a third option. And that is to develop a list of “I’m Done” activities. It is worth the time to sit
down and develop a list of activities a child can do when they get finished but class is not dismissed yet. This list keeps the student from interrupting you or anyone else. He simply chooses something from the list to do.
Here is the “I’m Done” list I use. Take it. Use it. Modify it. Why start from scratch? This list is a Microsoft Word document so it is modifiable.
what files or software must you have to download the Iam done list? its not opening right
hmm…i dont know why its not opening. i just now made it a pdf file and also an odt file. try to see if one of those work. if not, let me know.
As salaamu alaykum,
So many options for downloading, lol. Masha Allah.
I tried the doc version and had no problems, masha Allah.
I had been meaning to start one of these for myself but never got around to it.
Thanks a lot for posting.
